Travel Basketball Season
The Wilton Basketball Association (WBA) is excited to offer Wilton Hoops (our travel basketball program). This program provides boys and girls with the opportunity to compete at a higher level while continuing to develop their skills, basketball IQ, teamwork and sportsmanship. Teams practice together and compete within the Fairfield County Basketball League against other towns.
The ultimate goal of the program is "coach to develop, develop to win"!
GRADES
All teams are based on the players grade. The program is open to boys and girls, grades 4-8.
When
Tryouts typically occur in late September/ October and the season begins in late November. FCBL playoffs are usually first week of March.
Where
Tryouts, practices and home games are played in Wilton Public School and neighboring gymnasiums. Away games are played at the host towns gym location.
Practices
Each team practices two times a week.
Games
Most teams will play around 15 - 20 games a season, with 1-2 games a weekend.
Games include both league and non league games and each team may participate in one tournament throughout the season.
UNIFORMS
Uniforms are purchased when a player accepts their offer.

Is there a cost for tryouts?
No cost for tryouts.
What if my child has never played travel basketball?
Tryouts are open to everyone in grades 4th through 8th no matter their experience level.
What if my child cannot attend the tryouts?
Your child must attend at a minimum one of the two evaluation sessions in order to be eligible for consideration.
When will my child find out if they made the team?
Teams will be determined after tryouts are complete and communicated within a couple days.
Who conducts the evaluations?
Evaluations are done by Wilton Hoops coaches and by independent evaluators.
May I stay and watch?
No, parents must drop their child off to check-in. Children will exit at the end of evaluations and may be picked up outside the gym.
